Social Networking is the most important factor of growth of internet in India a Juxt Consult survey found that nearly 50% of traffic in India is related to Social networking. Orkut has been the one website which has driven the internet growth in India over last three years and has taken the Internet to the masses.

It has also been the primary focus of Google’s product development team in India and they have introduced bunch of features to continue its growth like adding pictures and videos and introducing tighter privacy features this while may have arrested the migration to other networks but it also seemed to have led to the peaking of Orkut.

Powered by Web 2.0 technology that is backed Facebook is a cubical that lets Web 2.0 happen for you. It was launched by Mark Zuckerberg, a 23 years old guy on 4th, 2004. Initially it was created for Harvard students, but within a month time exponential growth was achieved, with more tahn 30 networks added to its network communities. Peter Thiel, cofounder of PayPal was the first investor to invest $500,000 into Facebook.

Today, News Corporation has officially launched its India centric MySpace.com, one of the biggest social networking portal in the world. The India launch which is part of MySpace expansion in Asia region is just after the Korea launch. India is third Asian center of all three Asian MySpace hub after Japan and Korea.

Adotube, the online video advertising company, is announcing the Beta launch of their contextual advertising program. They have been beta testing this for a few weeks now and can say that it’s the most innovative program I have seen so far in the video advertising space.
